Heather Locklear is getting ready to fix her life. The star just resubmitted herself back into a rehabilitation facility following months of problems with family as well as authorities – Us Weekly has reported.
Radar Online claims it isn’t precisely known for how long the 57-year-old model will spend in the facility, but her family is sincerely hoping she’ll stay as long as possible – or at least until she’s better.
A month ago in November, a source who spoke with Us Weekly claimed Heather had been taken into the 5150 psychiatric unit. The insider shared that she “will remain hospitalized” for an unspecified duration.
The source explained the situation was “very serious,” and her family is doing everything in their power to figure out what to do as her state has deteriorated. Last month, the star was put on a 72-hour hold after it was revealed she had assaulted her boyfriend, Chris Heisser.
TMZ claims Locklear didn’t commit a crime and was merely being held because of her therapist’s concerns. The insider said the family felt “absolutely helpless” because there was nothing they could do about her.
In February of this year, Locklear found herself in serious trouble when she struck a police officer during a fight with Heisser. And approximately four months later, she was taken into custody again for supposedly punching and kicking an EMT worker – the same EMT official who later filed a lawsuit against her due to injuries sustained during the altercation.
In June, she was treated again for a possible drug overdose. Thus far in 2018, Heather has been in rehabilitation three times. The Melrose Place alum has long battled substance abuse problems.
In an Instagram post in September, Heather said “recovery” was the best revenge, and urged her fans and followers to be kind to everyone they meet, because one’s light “may change their path.” She also referred to addiction as “ferocious.”
One of Heather’s ex-boyfriends, David Spade, said the ex-model was merely going through a rough time, as we all do. The star said it was unfortunate, but he’s hopeful she’ll make it through.
